Boarding

When you need to leave town and no one is available to watch your pets while you’re gone, do you frantically make calls, offer to pay friends and family, and worry while you’re gone about whether your pet has had accidents in your house?

Why not trust the same people who care for your pet when they’re ill or injured?

At Old Farm Veterinary Hospital, we not only offer high-quality veterinary services, but we also offer caring, safe boarding services for our current patients. If your pet receives routine wellness care here and has been examined by one of our veterinarians within the last year, we would love to host your pet while you’re away!

Our team of experienced caretakers makes sure your pet is comfortable, safe, and well-cared-for when you can’t be at home. You can rest easy knowing your pet is in good hands and that a skilled team is nearby to handle any issues that might arise. Our boarding staff aims to decrease stress and maximize comfort and enjoyment for your pet, making your time away as pleasant as possible for human and animal.

Here, your pet enjoys:

  • Spacious runs and private enclosures, based on pet size & availability.
  • Separate quiet room for cats & small animals.
  • Large backyard for exercise.
  • Nearby wooded area teeming with wildlife.
  • Personal attention from staff.
  • High-Quality Hill’s Science Diet provided or bring your pets’ own diet
  • 20% Discount on Pet Grooming while boarding for a stay of 5 days or more
  • Free bath for 10-day stay or half-off for 5 days.

Drop-off and pick-up are during regular business hours from Monday through Saturday. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing to allow us to make your pet properly comfortable.

  • We provide bowls, bedding, toys, and treats.
  • We recommend that you bring their own food and all medications in the original container.
  • Due to infectious disease concerns, we are not able to feed raw diets to boarding pets.

Safety First

Your pet’s safety and comfort are our #1 priority. All pets must be current on their vaccinations and in good health before boarding.

Boarding dogs are required to be current on:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvovirus
  • Bordetella/Kennel Cough

Boarding cats are required to be current on:

  • Rabies
  • Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper)/Rhinotracheitis/Calicivirus

To allow time for the development of adequate protection, we are not able to administer overdue vaccines during your pet’s stay. Vaccines should be administered at least one week prior to boarding drop-off, or as recommended by the Old Farm Veterinary Hospital veterinarian they see for routine care.

To ensure that vaccinations are up to date and administered sufficiently before boarding, we will verify your pets’ medical records when the boarding appointment is made.
